Adulam Shelters
Since 1993, Adulam has run three shelters for street boys and girls. It works from an evangelical perspective and is affiliated with a church in Lima. 25 children live in the shelters.
For many years, Adulam also worked on the street, but in the last several years street work has become more and more difficult. Street children have become more violent and drug addicted. As such, Adulam has decided that it is more effective for other programs to refer children to their shelters.
The children live and eat in the shelters and attend local schools. During vacations, they play sports, go on trips, and go camping.
As with other NGOs in Lima, Adulam receives government support with food, but the majority of the budget comes from the church and from individual donors.
