Volunteering with EDELAC

In order to read an essay on the history and services of Escuela de la Calle, please click here. The program has asked Shine a light to find volunteers with the following characteristics:

Skills: Wilderness Guides. Engineers. Architects. Specialists is solar electricity.

Length of Service: Long enough to finish the project (house building or guiding wilderness groups). Several months, to teach local people the work, would be best

Language: Good verbal skills.

Age and Education: No age limit, but good skills at the work.

Personal characteristics: EDELAC has begun a project to construct energy efficient homes for the families of street and working children, using windows, mirrors, piped water, and photovoltaic cells. The program needs experts in this sort of construction.

EDELAC also works with Quetzaltrekkers, a mountain guiding company that directs funds to the program. Quetzaltrekkers needs volunteer guides.
