Volunteering with Juan Pablo II

Though Shine a light has not yet met formally with the Asociación Integral a la Familia Juan Pablo II, and thus the program is not a member of the Shine a light Network, it has asked Shine a light to look for volunteers. The program uses arts, crafts, and computers to work with children in some of the poorest communities of Nicaragua.

Skills: Computers, sewing, fashion, bakery, music (flute and guitar), English, football and baseball coaches.

Length of Service: Three months

Language: Spanish fluency

Age and Education: No requirement

Personal characteristics: "Willingness to learn from the culture and a desire to understand Nicaragua. We hope that you will be able to accompany us in many cultural activities and help in planning them."
