Volunteering with MANTHOC
In order to read an essay on the history and services of MANTHOC, click here. The program has asked Shine a light to find volunteers with the following characteristics:
Skills: Teachers, social workers, doctors and nurses, actors, artists, psychologists, anthropologists, and sociologists.
Length of Service: At least six months.
Language: "Perfect Spanish is preferred."
Age and Education: Must be at least 20 years old, and must have worked with poor or excluded children.
Personal characteristics: Time and money to support onesself in Perú. Adaptability to peruvian culture. Vocation for work with children. Emotional maturity. Ability to work in a team. Responsibility. Solidarity. Creativity. MANTHOC is a political movement, and any volunteer should agree with the basic premisses of its politics.
Special note: because of problematic email connections in the poor neighborhoods where MANTHOC works, it may take several weeks for the program to respond to your inquiry about volunteering.
