Centro Shama
There are many evangelical programs for street kids in Lima, and Centro Shama is the program that trains their workers. It also does street education and raises the consciousness of the public, particularly in evangelical churches.
Shama has five teams of street educators to talk with street kids and motivate them to get off the street. They can refer children to several shelters or can reunite them with their families.
A good example of their consciousness-raising work is a play about life on the street, presented in many evangelical churches.
