SAL Organizational Structure
Shine a light bases its model on network theory and popular education, providing a space in which people and organizations engaged in similar pursuits can collaborate for the benefit of homeless children.
www.shinealight.org, the networks virtual headquarters, is a horizontally integrated forum where community based organizations, researchers, volunteers, and advocates can discover and then learn from their peers.
The SAL staff and Advisory Board monitor this network to assess and diagnose common problems; the SAL Executive Director and Projects Director then develop strategic responses to these needs, implemented in collaboration with expert organizations, researchers, and SAL fellows.
The Shine a light Board of Directors provides fundraising, legal, and strategic support to the network, using its expertise in other areas to offer new paradigms and perspectives.
This agile structure allows SAL to address the needs of street children quickly, and with an extraordinary cost-benefit ratio.
