Renacer do Sol (a program of the Prefeitura de Betim)

Through the many years of Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT, democratic socialist) rule in Betim, Renacer do Sol became an important resource for street kids. It provided outreach for kids on the street and housing and drug treatment for those who wished to leave. However, with a new, conservative government in the city, the program is being re-thought. The new director is uncertain exactly where it will go.
